The documentary series was broadcast weekly by Argentina Televisora Color (ATC, Channel 7) and consisted in the presentation of the problems of inhabitants, institutions and social groups from different places in Argentina. Through regular use of testimonies from protagonists, amalgamated by the narrator's voice-over, different ways of life and daily struggles were presented as a representation of places, contexts and popular cultures. Social issues, environmental problems and the situation of indigenous populations were three areas of thematic development of the series documentary. In addition to investigating the narrative continuity of the series, this article will analyse the aesthetic particularities and the social work of the programme, beyond what is strictly television-related, which was produced and hosted by Otelo Borroni and Roberto Vacca. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar un corpus de programas de Historias de la Argentina secreta del período 1984-1993. El ciclo documental fue emitido semanalmente por Argentina Televisora Color (ATC, Canal 7) y consistía en la narración de problemáticas de habitantes, instituciones y grupos sociales de distintos lugares de la Argentina. Con el uso habitual de testimonios de protagonistas, amalgamados por la voz over del narrador, las diferentes formas de vida y luchas cotidianas se presentaron como representación de lugares, contextos y culturas populares. Las cuestiones sociales, las problemáticas medioambientales y la situación de las poblaciones indígenas fueron tres áreas de desarrollo temático del programa. Además de indagar en las continuidades narrativas del ciclo, este artículo analizará las particularidades estéticas y el trabajo social, extra televisivo, del programa realizado y conducido por Otelo Borroni y Roberto Vacca.
