| Sumario: | In our paper we will analyze some aspects of the writing of the narrator of Bartleby and company(2000), by Enrique Vila-Matas (Barcelona, 1948). Marcelo is hunchbacked and solitary, and he writes a very particular "diary". The author relates the narrator ́s body to the problems of literature at the end of the century. He affirms that contemporary letters are affected by the "Bartleby syndrome": a "disease" that causes the disappearance of the text and the writer. Marcelo's notes containhis reflections on literature: the author's view is positive, since he maintains that literature has the possibility of redemption. |
