In this context, the objective of the article is to study the situation of the labor market in Argentina between the start of the pandemic period and the present, focusing attention on the way in which women are inserted and how they were affected during this time. Some of the questions that guide the article are: How did COVID-19 impact the main labor market indicators? What effects did the pandemic have when the recovery of the economy and the labor indicators began to be discussed? Did it impact differentially for women and men? To address these questions, we take as reference the reports and microdata from the INDEC Permanent Household Survey, statistical reports prepared by specialized teams and the results of the National Time Use Survey, conducted by INDEC in 2021. In the conclusions we highlight the importance of: continuing to place the pandemic at the center of discussions to think about the situation of work and working class today; identify the structural features of the precariousness of work crossed by the gender dimension and its impact on the gendered way in which the pandemic crisis was managed; and finally to consider the relationship between the field of production and social reproduction to explain the unequal and precarious insertion of women in the labor market.
