This situation is explained by various positions that reconstruct the conflict, emphasizing different aspects: salary or economic, political, trade union. Few analyzes explain the emergence of workers' struggles from motivations linked to the symbolic or cultural. This article analyzed the trade union conflict of Alimentaria San Luis in 1986, in Villa Mercedes, San Luis, in a generational key, characterizing the two generations that interacted in it: a new democratic generation, and its predecessor, socialized in dictatorships. of the periods 1966-1973 and 1976-1983. Through the use of oral sources, an attempt will be made to account for the previous trajectories of male and female workers, and the impressions generated by contact with the manufacturing and trade union world after joining Alimentaria San Luis. El periodo de 1983-1989 en Argentina, estuvo marcado por la tensión entre sindicatos y gobierno nacional. Esta situación se explica por diversas posturas que reconstruyen la conflictividad poniendo el énfasis en diferentes aspectos: salarial o económico, político, sindical. Escasos análisis explican el surgimiento de luchas de trabajadores y trabajadoras a partir de motivaciones ligadas a lo simbólico o cultural. En este artículo se analiza el conflicto sindical de Alimentaria San Luis en el año 1986, en Villa Mercedes, San Luis, en clave generacional, caracterizando las dos generaciones que interactuaron en el mismo: una novel generación democrática y su antecesora, socializada en las dictaduras de los períodos 1966-1973 y 1976-1983. Mediante la utilización de fuentes orales, se intentará dar cuenta de las trayectorias previas de trabajadores y trabajadoras, y las impresiones que generaba el contacto con el mundo fabril y sindical a partir de su incorporación a Alimentaria San Luis.
