Sumario:The climate has been a significant constraint on Argentine North Patagonian region potential development, based on thermal, hydric and wind limitations, leading a complex scenario for the quality of life of the inhabitants and the local and regional development. The foregoing has given rise to several socio-environmental and productive disagreements, of a singular configuration. This research shows an analysis of the main climatic drivers regarding to agricultural public policies aimed at environmental governance in the north of the Patagonian region. The conceptual and technical aspects are described, as well as the most relevant sources and outcomes of the relationship between natural assets and sustainable development in the south-central plateau of the Province of Río Negro and their possible involvement strategies within the framework of the setting up of public policies. for environmental governance. The qualitative methodology includes the collection of secondary information to account for the relevance of the problem for the entire population and the need to include specific actions on the government schedule to address the issue under a private public co-management model. Both, the review of the state of the art and the theoretical deepening of key concepts such as environmental governance, climate change, agricultural production and sustainable development, as well as the perspective of the main actors, provide the frame of reference for the article and contribute to supporting possible initiatives, in a medium- and long-term view that promote the best environmental governance of the territory under study.
