Sumario:In recent years the concept of heritage, complex and polysemic has undergone a theoretical and conceptual evolution. This translates into practice through dissimilar perspectives of approach and analysis that differ in the consideration of temporality, in the social actors involved and in the geographical scale. One of them, the critical perspective, understands heritage as the processes or mechanisms elaborated socially, and in which the role and decisions of official or hegemonic actors are prioritized. This article focuses on this vision and applies it to a case study: the Metropolitan Area of Mendoza. In this sense, the objective seeks to identify the typology and distribution of the heritage assets of the departments that make up the study area from this perspective to subsequently raise reflections related to the consideration of landscape as heritage. The methodology combines qualitative and quantitative aspects linking the results of each stage. Finally, the final reflections are raised considering aspects or approaches to apply in future research work.
