Sumario:The article provides an overview of some research in Didactics of history studying learning, taking as focus of analysis the relations and tensions between the teaching and learning of facts, concepts and explanations. The review includes two types of research: on the one hand, which studied the usual teaching purely descriptivo interpretativo perspective and, on the other hand, investigations, also with intentionality and educational intervention i.e. seek to bring into play educational conditions that would help to promote the learning of history contents. The results of the abovedescribed investigations reveal the relevance that have, for learning concepts and explanations, both specific knowledge about the historical situations in study that puts at the disposal of students as the kind of intellectual work that promote the teaching conditions.
