Sumario:In this article we reflect on the relationships between the re-searches and the history teaching practices. We note that the formal and routine teaching practices which are few connected with the life problems contribute to the fact that young think that history knowledge is unhelpful. This situation is because research conclusions are underutilized to understand the teaching practice and to change them. This report is divided in three parts: (1) the research about the teaching civics and social thinking to the young, (2) some theorist and methodological problems to research in history and social studies education, and (3) the relationship between the research, the teacher education and the situation we have mentioned before.
