Sumario:The current political educational discourse and the policies carried out since the santion of Ley de Educación Nacional emphasize the principles of educative inclusion and equality;arising expectations of a democratic and fair education, able to dignify the human condition. To make this education possible, it is necessary to conceive Education as a Social Right,State as the main educative agent and to discuss –in order to overcome them-political and pedagogical theories that antagonize the goals of Inclusion, Equality, Justice and Educative Democracy. In this work, I analise Educational Policies executed in the last decades of the XXth Centuty and the beginning of the XXIst in Argentina, and the change of meaning ofState School, produced by the centrality attributed to mercantile thought, which conceives education as a personal commodity allowing the individual to capitalize himself as an employable human resource. I discuss the educational policies which have expanded structural socio-educative problems and have brought about others by mixing mercantilism and authoritarianism: they need to be confronted in order to reestablish State Education as a socially shared value and a treasured institution for our people.
