In this research we show the conceptions of a group of Chilean teachers when asked about the role assigned to children and young people in their classes and in the process of teaching and learning La enseñanza de la historia escolar sigue manteniéndose como un baluarte de la tradición al promover una enseñanza con losprotagonistas de siempre. Ello a pesar del desarrollo experimentado por la investigación histórica durante el siglo XXal situar como objeto de estudio a actores que, con anterioridad, habían sido mantenidos en el anonimato (mujeres, hombrescorrientes, indígenas, esclavos, niños, niñas, etc.). En esta investigación mostramos los posicionamientos que asumen ungrupo de docentes chilenos al ser consultados sobre el protagonismo que les asignan a niños, niñas y jóvenes en sus clases.
