Sumario:Abstract (8300) is the post code that makes reference to an exact point of a country for the mail to get to its right destination, and it is also the name of a newspaper in Neuquén, whose origin dates back to December 2003 when its first printed edition came out. Within which social and political relationships was (8300) born as a graphic medium? Or, in other words, which is the context of its emergence? This exploratory article attempts to answer these questions by focusing on the end of 2003 and during 2004, trying to systematize a series of explanatory factors to account for the beginning of (8300). Exploring its genesis has a transversal implication: regardless of how it interacts with the public sphere, the newspaper will have a political role, not a neutral one, positioning itself opposite other journalistic actors (La Mañana, for instance) and opposite the political actors of that time (the so-called sobischismo). By the end of the year 2004, this newspaper will try to slip through the crack to ensure its survival and continuity.
