Sumario:In France, Experimental Pedagogy, Psychopedagogy and Educational Sciences are three, very important fields of discussion. The first one emerged at the end of the 19th century and is concurrent with New Education. Psychopedagogy, the field of reflection for Experimental Pedagogy and New Education, appeared on the scene towards the middle of the 20th century and played a special role in the education of teachers in the Normal school. In 1967, contemporary Educational Sciences were institutionalized in Universities in France; they are a result of post-colonial transformations in education. With this perspective in mind, this article reveals the tension between the paradigmatic traditions which, to this day, are still open to debate.
