Sumario:The centenary of the University Reform (RU) of 1918 leads historians to try to answer the question of validity or the decline of the reformist ideas that so influenced the Argentine university. For this, the purpose of this article is to reflect on the connection between this nucleus of ideas, the university and politics in the different historical junctures, with the aim of remembering the project of university renewal, the reconfiguration of that matrix and theemergence of some intellectuals who assumed interesting contributions of political intervention during the twentieth century, in particular, until the democratic transition of the eighties. The writing aims to convey the concern of the social sciences in general, history in particular, in making contributions to the transformation of the link between university, society and politics at the current time.
