Sumario:The objective of this article is to analyze the central characteristics of the Interbarrial – a space where Buenos Aires city assemblies met and coordinated their activities and projects between 2002 and 2003. I propose examining the different practices and meanings of the native category articulation. Based on the analysis of this category -usually used for social movements and other organizations- I present the constitution of a political arena where processes of interaction and different transactions are carried out within a framework of power relations as well as strategies of alliance and competence with dissimilar actors. Thus, unlike research that tends to unilateralize the analysis of the practices and discourse subaltern groups, I propose placing the Interbarrial´s development within a field of dispute. I describe how different points of view and strategies are strained in relation with power, politics, practical politices and the state.
