Sumario:The problem of blanketing effect in Am stars is rediscussed using a multicolor approach. Spectral types corresponding to metal and hydrogen lines are given for 22 stars. Using 32 Am stars (10 given by A. Slettebak - 1949) it can be stated that approximately: 1 (in 0ᵐ01) = 4 x met. 1: length of blanketing vector in the U-B /B-V diagram, met: metallicity (metal spectra minus hydrogen spectra) in tenths of spectral type.
