Sumario:This article approaches the study of urban spatial remnants, i.e. interstitials situations, leading to environmental degradation and unexpected appropriation, particularly in abandoned areas under high-ways and in areas with obsolete railways. Hypothesis: The interstitial involves and leads to the informal. In the case of interstitial situations under high-ways, an area of the Metropolitan Region of Buenos Aires in Argentina was selected to adopt regulations and to apply strategies according to a systematic formulation of typological patterns, taking in account interstitial space. Interstitial situations are considered crucial information to take actions in urban areas regarding mobility, high-way flow and appropriation. . Methodology is based on data gathered through a reading systemic interpretation instrument, to analyze the complex urban net and overlapping physical and phenomenological layers. Typological Patterns will support future urban and architectural designs. In areas with obsolete railways generic and specific instruments were designed according to principles of urban acupuncture and town planning.
