Sumario:The objective of this contribution is to diagnose the weevil species harmful to wheat crops in Argentina. Those species are: Prosaldius rufus Ogloblin, Listronotus bonariensis (Kuschol), Listronotus argentinensis (Hustache), Listroderes apicalis Waterhouse, Eurymetopus fallax Boheman, and Aramigus tessellatus (Say). Among them, the most injurious is L. bonariensis. The material studied belongs to the Museo de La Plata collection. Some specimens were sampled by the authors from field crops in different localities of Buenos Aires, especially Sierra de la Ventana and Bahía Blanca. The paper includes a key for the identification of adult specimens of the six treated species; information on their ranges, hostplants, and damages caused; types of oviposition and egg layings; a key to identify larvae; data on life cycles, larval, pupal and adult habits; and information on natural enemies, useful for future strategies of biological control. Habitus of all species and line drawing ofthe most importanttaxonomic larval and adult characters are provided. Egg layings and some natural enemies are also illustrated.
