Sumario:The phase of Pb<SUB>2</SUB>CrO<SUB>5</SUB> composition is a ceramic material with dielectric properties and probably with interesting optical characteristics. It can also be formulated as PbCrO4 · PbO, which reveals a structural analogy with lanarkite, PbSO<SUB>4</SUB>-PbO, and PbMoO<SUB>4</SUB> · PbO. In order to achieve an advance in the spectroscopic characterization of materials of this type, we have investigated the infrared and Raman spectra of this phase.
