Photometric analysis of the early-type contact binary V393 Centauri

The UBV light curves of the early-type contact binary V393 Cen are analysed by means of the computational method of Wilson and Devinney. Different solutions, corresponding to values of the mass-ratio between 0.60 and 1.90, are presented. All them fit the observed data correctly. The remaining photo...

Sumario:The UBV light curves of the early-type contact binary V393 Cen are analysed by means of the computational method of Wilson and Devinney. Different solutions, corresponding to values of the mass-ratio between 0.60 and 1.90, are presented. All them fit the observed data correctly. The remaining photometric parameters and, particularly, the percentage of overcontact, the difference of temperature between the components and the orbital inclination, are well defined. The cause of the photometric indetermination of the system mass-ratio is shortly discussed.
