| Sumario: | This lecture is concerned with a simple model aimed to describe the self-organized displacements of self-driving individuals. Processes such as growth, death, survival, self-propagation, competition and communication are considered. Starting from either small colonies or a randomly distributed population, the system evolves towards a stationary state where the population density is conserved. It is shown that the stationary state exhibits self-organized critical behavior. |
