| Sumario: | The potentiodynamic characteristics of Au/alkaline solution interfaces within the potential range of the thermodynamic stability of water, under different complex potential perturbation conditions are described. The composite E/I contours are interpreted in terms of a reversible initial process involving OH− electrosorption, followed by the formation of Au(III) surface species when the Au/Au(III) equilibrium potential is reached. The latter process clearly involves the simultaneous participation of ageing effects during the course of the reaction. The results correlate with optical data reported in the literature |
