Sumario:Light and scanning electron microscopy were employed to study the morphology and anatomy of normal and teratological fruits, from one herbarium specimen (Af. Yero 933, HAC ex herbarium CNIC), of Fimbristylis dichotoma (L.) Vahl (Cyperacece). Total length of both kinds of fruits was compared with the mean length reported for species, using Dunnett test; it was found that teratological fruits are significantly longer. Possible causes for this teratology are discussed.
