Sumario:Based on information derived from the Survey on Migration in the Northern Border of Mexico (EMIF), examined between 1993 and 2010 the importance of undocumented migrants to use the “coyote” or “pollero” in the clandestine crossing the US-Mexico border. Also identifies changes in the average cost paid for their service, rather than making distinctions by place of contact with the smuggler of illegal immigrants and crossing city. Finally, it elaborates a demographic profile of the flow of migrants who hired a smuggler of illegal immigrants.
