| Sumario: | This article analyzes the effects of the increase in men's studies, an approach to the question of gender that tends to undermine and pluralize the hegemonic version of masculine identity construction. This identity lies behind certain sexist ideas and behavior patterns, including violence against women. In order to explore this issue it is necessary to carry out a critical analysis of what has been labeled as the modern stereotype of masculinity, pointing out its negative effects on women and even on ¿"Hombres de verdad"? Estereotipo masculino, relaciones entre los géneros y ciudadanía Fernando Fernández Llebrez some men. It also negatively influences the men that reproduce the model, since the stereotype can, while generating masculine privileges, also be a source of pain for men. Finally, we propose that the rhetorical tradition of politics constitutes a satisfac tory approach to this issue. |
