Sumario:This article contrast the commemorative editions of the first century independence in 1910, both printed in Bogota and Cali after the celebration. In a specific manner those books that were published with an Institutional and urban intention would be compared, with means to study the ways that each local constellation wanted to represent itself and its City during the sumptuous Centennial. In order to do so, the editions were examined and characterize like political scriptures and monument – like documents full with a particular historic memoire. This was developed in order to analyze the role of the content in proper cultural elements of a conservative regime during the xix and the xx Century, and to examine some variables that grew apart the joyous character of both cities centennial when articulated around the urge of showing local traditions, and memory molding.
