| Sumario: | The present paper is the result of an anthropological research in the world of porn filmmaking in Sao Paulo (Brazil), the Mecca of Latin American porn, specifically of the heterosexual style, which up until 2008 was mainly produced for dvd and not for the internet, as it eventually was. The paper analyses the way in which the cast makes use of a sexual language characteristic of porn, the way in which directors go about their profession, and their understanding of pornography in an aesthetic and performance level. Underneath lie two main questions: how and according to what parameters is the pornographic image constructed, and how does pornography creates a discourse on regulation and transgression based on certain statements about gender and sexuality. |
