Sumario:Debates on motherhood have proliferated on social media, especially in Brazil. Through personal narratives, different women share their motherhood experiences online, creating support, negotiation and conflict networks. The paper aims to study: which values are disputed through these narratives; in which ways does the use of social media make the problematization of motherhood visible; and how personal narratives integrate the dialogical environment of digital culture. The corpus consists of nine Brazilian posts ‒ three on fanpages on Facebook, three on personal profiles on the same site, and three blogs about motherhood ‒ along with their comments. The methodology applied relies on Computer-Mediated Discourse Analysis (CMDA). Online discussions about motherhood disclose a potential of propagation, generated by participants' discursive performances.
