Sumario:This article presents an advance of an ongoing work whose purpose is the study of television genres, in particular the relationships between fiction and nonfiction. The objective is to study the mockumentary as a genre and its manifestations in Uruguayan television fiction. For this, the perspective of genre theory and conceptual categories will be defined to address the mockcumentary and its manifestation in television series. The aim is to arrive at the delimitation of the identity of the genre and, based on it, I propose to analyze the different forms of articulation between the fictional and the documentary in Uruguayan realizations of the last five years.
