Sumario:Cuba has been characterized for being the only Socialist system currently running a country in the Caribbean. Cuba has opted to use regional mechanisms to create alternatives to globalization so that it reinserts itself in the region as real international actor in the political scene. The country does it to assimilate the globalization process. This strategy allows Cuba to design and execute already determined regional programs and also to show the Caribbean countries its pragmatic side.
