| Sumario: | Starting with some considerations on the production of knowledge, teaching and education in the area of Literature, I present some data about instances of prejudice and exclusions as a frame to discuss the non recognition of XIX century Brazilian female authorship, placing the issues in the context of the relation between nationalism and literature. Then, I focus on some of the effects of the crystallized notions of canon and value to argue for recognition as the base for an ethical attitude which would benefit research and teaching and thus make the sense of sustentability meaningful the knowledge we produce in the area of Literature. |
