| Sumario: | Resolution Nº 125/08 was an initiative of the Argentine State to regulate the profits of the most important national agriculture sector. The Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner government’s decision caused an unusual reaction of the main agricultural actors that generated a conflict along 128 days. The incident reverberated widely in the local media. From a quantitative content analysis this study aims to analyze the relevance of the case in the coverage of Clarín and Página/12 daily. Specifically it aims to establish: 1) the frequency and hierarchy; 2) the news valence in both media and its influence on the relevance; and 3) the media treatment’s differences and similarities. The analytical work falls within the theoretical perspective of Agenda Setting. |
