Sumario:Zemelman begins analysing the problems of latinoamerican democracy at  a theorical level. The "preliminary" thoughts oscillate around the interdependant relationship and mutual conditionment between democracy and the following topics; utopia and order; market; politics; society and participation; economical scheme and neoliberalism. Looking back upon this, Zemelman investigates the condition of the argument and the way in wich democracy practiced. All these with the only purpose of making clear the various factors which characterize the process in the construction of democracy, what are its drawbacks and also its potentialities.
