Sumario:This artide offers a bibliographic compenditlm of Latin America agriculture issues. It summarizes and ilustrates topics, tendencies and critiques occurring from the 1960s and at the present. It brings about a critical Latin American analysis to study structures, politics, culture, the environment and technology. It also offers a methodology to study rural issues. This article shows how Latin American governments allowed transnational corporations to foster an industrialization transformation in the rural areas. In addition, it provides an alternative approach through social movements to overcome poverty and inequalityin the rural areas.
