Sumario:This article proposes to analyze the information treatment made by the Argentine newspapers La Prensa and Diario Popular about the criminal acts that occurred during the last Argentine military dictatorship (1976-1983). From the analysis carried out, it can be deduced that, although the rhetoric of the police genre was used to report illegal repression during the years 1976- 1978, by 1982 the framing changed and police events were interpreted by the newspapers in a political key.
