| Sumario: | The performances of " lo cubano " in Mexican arts scene during the period 1920-1950 are the essential reason of suggestive book Mulatas and black Cubans in the Mexican scene ( 1920-1950 ) written by Gabriela Pulido Llano. In particular, the author highlights the construction stereotype of Cuban rumba reflected in the famous Mexican gold film with the ever faithful companion of bongo musician. The mulatto and black as " classical" representations were integrated into Mexican culture associated with the construction of features idealized as sensuality and eroticism , joy, and exotic tropical pace . |
