Sumario:The author makes a reflection on the cares and concerns of Raul Prebisch and ofthose who gave direction to the historical and current Latin American thought. Has asits axis development, where highlights the political evolution of the continent aroundyour idea, theory and practice. Shows such as eclac’s vision retains a contemporarycarácter. Gives a prominent place on the Political Economy of development for thatalong with the Policy reshape the meaning of the general interest, aligned by goals offreedom, justice and democracy She also notes that the combination of democracyand the economy with the globalization has not been, nor will it ever be, a simple trip;but there is to resume the social change, as we said that when priority is given tothe effective improvement of the living conditions of the majority of the population, thegrowth becomes in development. But this change is not a spontaneous: It is the resultof the expression of political will.
