Sumario:This paper starts from the premise that studies of the legislative branch in Mexico havebeen increasing, but at the subnational level is still limited. It is also considered that theincrease in number of coalitions in governorships has implications for study. In thisregard, the objectives of the work are: describe the development of the different types ofgovernment at the state level in the period 1998-2014 and show the empirical challengesthat have the concepts of divided government and unified government.
