| Sumario: | Given the current intensity of migration and the number of sites involved this article reflects on the theoretical - methodological situation of the studies that the social sciences develop about them. Product and causes both of the huge socio-economic changes are an essential part of the process of social transformation.
Despite the enormous amount of migration studies made in all disciplines, not yet have a strong academic identity and appear as an area of interest within them, leaning toward some of the dimensions of migration processes. With own ways to raise and develop research methods, each one start from very different theoretical currents which emerge the main questions and assumptions that shape and organize the problems to be study and how they should be addressed. But despite being studied from very different theoretical perspectives and recognition of the possibilities that the discussion will open, the exchange among experts on migratory phenomena is still not enough. The link between the different specialties establishes the possibility of avoiding overlaps in the inquiry, and the possibility of evaluating designs. |
