| Sumario: | This paper intends to establish the position of the three major mexican political parties on the oil reform, in order to assess the ideological distance existing between them. The legislative proposals presented by these parties in 2008 show diverging initial positions. However, the approval, in that same year, of the oil reform package and, above all, the agreement concluded within the framework of the Pacto por Mexico, reveal a process of growing alignment with regard to measures that focus on enhancing the private enterprise involvement in the sector. |
