Sumario:This article aims to join the side of studies which review the obstacles faced by women political representation in Mexico, particularly those related to the implementation of the gender quota policy on nominations to Mexican Congress. To establish whether there is a gender orientation in the vote of mexicans, through the comparative analysis of socio-demographic characteristics of the electoral districts in which women candidates participated in the last elections of 2012.
