| Sumario: | This paper studies the first schools of social service in Colombia and presents some of the results of the research entitled “History of care and welfare, and the discipline of social work during the period 1936 to 1958.” Furthermore, political, social, and economic contexts are analyzed, as well as the processes of modernization and industrialization that were implemented, since it is in this context that social work programs were encouraged in major cities of the country. |
