Sumario:This article analyzes the newspaper A Voz da Infância, during the years 1936-1948. Produced entirely by children attending the Biblioteca Infantil of São Paulo, the newspaper reveals some peculiarities about what it meant to be a child in this period: their daily lives, their concerns, their values. One of the most recurring topics in the articles and reviews published in the journal were books and the practice of reading. Using the works of cultural history and anthropology of the child, we intend to analyze the reception of readings by children, their practices as readers and their thoughts about the books they read.
