| Sumario: | Immigration is one of the most important phenomena that defined the structure of the population of La Rioja in the past two decades, but particularly since the beginning of the XXI century. The growth experienced by this region is due almost exclusively to this population group. The need for labor in areas of primary activity such as grape, fruit or horticultural products for further processing, has generated an important focus of employment for these people. In addition to this phenomenon, the strong aging is one of the basic features of the Community, granting it specific characteristics that will define the demographic structure of the population of this territory. |
