Sumario:Railway stations are not just transfer nodes of the system. Those buildings also manage the travelers flow, determine a company’s category and take on urban significance. In this sense, they become a relevant component of the preexisting city and a clear excuse to expand urbanization. Due to these two combined factors, their architecture will be a crossroads between the technical domain of infrastructure, the public domain of civility and the private domain of the residential fabric. The “Central Norte Argentino” Railway Station, located in the City of Santa Fe (Argentina), is no exception to these features, since it is the milestone of a hierarchical urban sector with a regular layout and a homogenous morphology. The scope of this article will be focused on a special portrayal of these urban dimensions surrounding the station.
