| Sumario: | This essay, written by the Cuban musicologist Rolando Antonio Pérez Fernández, approaches the global ethnomusicological panorama from the point of view of the Southern countries, corresponding to their legitímate interests. It is not an excluding vision, such as that of the Northern countries, but a vision which, without conceptual provincialisms and without passing over any ethnomusicological essentials, tries to scrutinize everything. Among the various experiences narrated, the little known topic of Chínese influence on Cuban musical culture stands out. |
