Sumario:One of the Cuban priorities upon the victory of the Revolution in 1959 was the design of an educational system of high quality that might respond to the needs of the society and encourage revolutionary ideals and patriotic feelings. The present article by the Brazilian teacher Tania Conceicao Iglesias de Amaral approaches the fundamental topic of the development of pedagogical science and the training of teachers for that educational system, based upon observation carried out in the "Juan Marinello" Higher Education Institute of the Teachers University of Matanzas.
