Sumario:A few months ago a self-regulated institution of press activities emerged in Bolivia: the defender of the reader. The Bolivian Communication Specialist, Luis Ramiro Beltrán, talks profoundly about the issue in this presentation, read in public at his installation as defender of the reader in the Group of the Leading Press of his country. He makes us see in it the immense power of the media, that apparently has neither barriers nor brakes, except those that journalists might impose through ethics, a barrier which according to the author must be impervious to excesses and absurdities.
