Sumario:What constitutes a just and good agrarian structure? The criteria forresponding will always be class criteria. In this article we present someconceptual elements in an attempt to broaden the scope of the debate onagrarian reform in Brazil and to suggest some perspectives on the struggle forsuch a reform. This has to do with, on the one hand, the analysis of theinterests of the dominant classes and class fractions, of the organization ofthese interests by the state and of the capacity of the hegemonic fractionsto ideologically involve sectors of the popular classes. On the other hand, ithas to do with the capacity of landless workers to define their objectivesclearly and to make the alliances necessary to reach them.
