Sumario:In this article some theoretical reflexions are presented, dealing with the existing relationship between social temporality and the image within a visual communication scope; likewise, it offers some diachronic and synchronic methodologies that have turned to be effective for analysis and comprehension and define images as autonomous documents with their own right. Photography and painting work as an example to deal with general theoretical aspects, later on, they reach diverse examples such as the appropriation made by image consumers everyday. Conclusions refer to the necessity of remembering that the acknowledgement process of each image should start every time, over again, questioning the accuracy of our budgets.
