Sumario:In this article we analyze the social strugglesin Brazil in the 2000s using data on protestactions, such as strikes and land occupations, andchronologies of social conflicts. We also proposea dialogue between the current physiognomyof social struggles and the principle traditionsof organization and struggle in the country. Wehighlight the social structure and the experiencesof struggle as elements that explain thetransmission of the historical patrimony of theworkers. In addition, we present some reflectionson how to think about the class character andcentrality of the union, popular, and peasantmovement in the overall social struggles in Brazil.
